CORRECTED DURING INEPSECTION (b) Army & Air Force Exchange- McChord Main store at 504 Barnes Blvd. JBLM, WA -- Community Office Cubicles: A Danby refrigerator was plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). (c) Army & Air Force Exchange- McChord Main store at 504 Barnes Blvd. JBLM, WA -- Visual Merchandise Cubicle: A Chefs Choice International kettle was plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION (d) Army & Air Force Exchange- McChord Main store at 504 Barnes Blvd. JBLM, WA -- Stockroom Office: A refrigeration unit and Krups coffee pot were plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed for low amperage computer and audiovisual types of equipment, and not appliances. This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards. The Army and Air Force Exchange was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1380232, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04/08/2019, with respect to a workplace located at Ft. Lewis- JBLM, WA.
