29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following: Guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about 11/20/2019, on the exterior west side of the building, employees clean, operate and perform maintenance activities in the area where the conveyor belt is located. Employees are exposed to a 6 foot fall hazard at the unprotected edge of the pit that is behind the conveyor belt which contains the conveyor gears and the sump pump. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

The conveyor belt was not covered or guarded to prevent employees from accidently stepping on or falling into it while it's moving. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
