29 CFR 1926.251(a)(1): Rigging equipment for material handling was not inspected prior to use on each shift and as necessary during its use to ensure that it was safe:   a) Home 2 Suites, Viera Town Center, 2404 Metfield Dr. - observed on or about November 23, 2019, employees in the process of framing activities were exposed to a struck by hazard, in that, four landscape timbers used as rigging to lift a 10,000 pound roof section were not inspected.

29 CFR 1926.1425(b): While the operator was not moving the suspended load, no employee shall be within the fall zone, except those employees engaged in; (b)(1): hooking, unhooking or guiding a load; (b)(2) initial attachment of the load to a component or structure or (b)(3) operating a concrete hopper or bucket.  a) Home 2 Suites, Viera Town Center, 2404 Metfield Dr. - observed on or about November 23, 2019, employees in the process of framing activities we exposed to a struck by hazard, in that, the employees were working directly beneath a suspended 10,000 pound, 32' 3" by 32' 3" roof section attaching braces.

29 CFR 1926.1425(c)(1): The employer did not make sure that the materials being hoisted when employees were hooking, unhooking, or guiding the load were rigged to prevent unintentional displacement.  a) Home 2 Suites, Viera Town Center, 2404 Metfield Dr. - observed on or about November 23, 2019, employees in the process of framing activities we exposed to a struck by hazard, in that, four landscape timbers were used as rigging to lift a 10,000 pound roof section. Landscape timbers were run along the top chord of cold steel formed metal trusses with no rigging securely holding the roof section in place.
