29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a) Exterior, West Side of Parking Garage - Employees were in an excavation that measured 5 feet, 2 inches in depth while removing an existing section of 6 inch pipe, and the bench was only 2 feet on the horizontal, on or about 07/24/2019. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
