29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems. Page Park Project, Bristol: On or about, December 13, 2019, the competent person could not articulate what type of soil was involved with this particular trench. In addition, there was no ladder in the trench for egress; there was inadequate sloping, no shoring, and no trench box in place; and the spoil pile was within six inches of the edge of the trench.
