29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:  a. 900 Fairmount Ave, Elizabeth, NJ - Exits from freezer   The employer did not ensure exit routes were kept unobstructed.  Employees engaged in warehousing activities placed pallets of products at the outside of exit doors from the freezer to the loading docks and from inside of the freezer to outside, which prevented the safe use of the exit door from the refrigerated section of the warehouse in the event of an evacuation.   Violation observed on or about March 18, 2020

Employees unloading 55 gallon drums of frozen food products used an Easy Lift Equipment, Eagle-Grip Attachment on the forks of a Crown, 5200 Series, forklift for loading and unloading trailers without an identification plate that included capacity of the forklift with the attachment. 29 CFR 1910.178(k)(1): The brakes of highway truck(s) were not set and wheel chocks placed under the rear wheels to prevent truck(s) from rolling:  a. 900 Fairmount Ave, Elizabeth, NJ - Loading docks  The employer did not ensure that over the road trucks/trailers had chocks placed under the rear wheels to prevent the trucks from rolling when at the loading docks.  Employees engaged in warehousing activities operated Crown ,SC5200 Series  forklifts and Crown, PE4500 Series pallet jacks inside trailers that were not chocked.
