29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) Jobsite - The employer failed to ensure that all employees working inside of an excavation were protected by protective system, when employees were allowed to remove lateral timber shoring thus exposing employees to cave-in hazards when working along the excavation wall approximately ten (10) feet below the ground surface. This condition was observed on or about November 19, 2020.
