29 CFR 1960.8(a): 29 CFR 1960.8(a): The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm: On or about 12/20/2019 and times prior thereto, located at the Quantico MCB GF Directorate, 3250 Caitlin Ave. Quantico, VA 22134, the employer did not provide safe air quality health conditions to employee(s) assigned to eradicate old and damaged panels, cut, and install new Calcium Silicate Boards used as industrial heat fire protection panels for the walls inside the complex's firefighting training burn building. The work process did not include any initial exposure assessment or no employee medical surveillance or personal monitoring. Employee(s) were exposed to silica dust while removing old burnt panels and while cutting new panels (non-wet method) without ventilation or any PPE. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
