29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) 8-Speed Department - On or about December 26, 2019, the employer did not ensure that all moving parts and points of operation were guarded in a manner that would prevent employees from having any part of their body in the danger zone during operation or coming in contact with moving parts of equipment, including the front of the Upper Valve Body Plug Machine. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
