29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system or personal fall arrest systems: Instance a. Staircase - On or about November 20, 2019, an employee received severe injuries as a result of falling through an open staircase, where the guardrail system was not adequate to prevent the fall hazard. Instance b. Second story balcony - On or about December 6, 2019, employees engaged in framing activities from the second floor level were exposed to falls of over 9 feet, where the second story working/walking level was not guarded or barricaded to prevent the fall hazard. Instance c. Window openings - On or about December 6, 2019, employees engaged in framing activities from the second floor level were exposed to falls of over 9 feet, where the second story windows were not provided with guardrails to prevent the fall hazard.
