29 CFR 1910.106(d)(4)(i): Inside flammable or combustible liquid storage room(s) were not constructed to meet the required fire-resistive rating as specified in NFPA 251-1969: On or about January 7, 2020 in the wet spray storage area/paint storage area, the employer stored flammable chemicals, such as but not limited to, acetone, paint activator, xylan black product, and isopropanol, in a chemical storage room that was not constructed to meet the required fire-resistive rating for its use. An inside storage room for flammable liquids must also contain the following: 1. Rating and capacity will comply with Table H-13; 2. Electrical wiring and equipment located inside the storage room used for Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids or Category 3 with a flashpoint below 100 F (37.8 C) will be approved under subpart S of this part for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations; 3. Ventilation system will be designed to provide for a complete change of air within the room at least six times per hour; and, 4. Room will have at least one clear main aisle at least 3 feet wide with no stacking of containers over 30 gallons of capacity.
