29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. a.) On or about January 13, 2020, an employee was exposed to an 11.2 foot fall hazard while operating an elevated Genie extensible and articulating boom platform to install metal siding on a commercial storage facility.

29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer shall have each employee who performs work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. The training shall include the following areas, as applicable: 1926.454(a)(1): The nature of any electrical hazards, fall hazards and falling objects in the work area. a.) On or about January 13, 2020, an employee was not trained to recognize fall hazards such as, but not limited to, an 11.2 foot fall hazard while operating an elevated Genie extensible and articulating boom platform nor was he trained on when to utilize a fall protection system.
