29 CFR 1910.134(f)(2): Employee(s) using tight-fitting facepiece respirators were not fit tested prior to initial use of the respirator:  (a) On or about January 15, 2020, D. F. Goldsmith Chemical and Metal Corporation did not ensure that employee(s), repacking chemicals such as silver nitrate and mercury, were fit tested, prior to using respiratory protection, including a 3M 8577 P95 respirator and a MSA full face negative pressure respirator.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  (a) On or about January 15, 2020, D. F. Goldsmith Chemical and Metal Corporation did not provide information and training regarding the hazards of the chemicals in the workplace. Employee(s) were exposed to mercury and silver nitrate when repacking the chemicals to smaller containers.   No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
