29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a) Front yard - On or about January 10, 2020 and at times prior thereto, employees were working in an excavation approximately 14' deep without any cave in protection in place and spoil piles in excess of 6' high right along the edge of the excavation. Excavation walls were not sloped and practically vertical exposing employees to cave in hazards. On January 10, 2020 two employees were hospitalized following a cave in which partially buried both employees for hours.
