29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that were 4 feet (1.22m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62m) of lateral travel for employees: a) Million Air Hangar Parking Lot: Employees working in an excavation were not provided with safe means to enter and exit; the employer had provided an "A" frame ladder for that purpose. Condition noted on or about 01/14/2020. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000 AS PER CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c). The employer had not complied with the provisions of 29 CFR 1926.652(b)(1)(i) in that the excavation was sloped at an angle steeper that one and one-half horizontal to one vertical (34 degrees measured from the horizontal): a) Million Air Hangar Parking Lot: Employer did not install shoring to protect employees working in a trench from a potential cave-in. Condition noted on or about 01/14/2020. IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.
