29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv): Employee(s) were not standing firmly on the floor of the basket, were sitting or climbing on the edge of the basket, or were using planks, ladders, or other devices for a work position. On or about 27 January 2020, one worker was performing painting preparation activities using a Genie Boom Lift Model S-80X on the second floor balcony of a multi-family new residential under construction. While performing these painting preparation activities the worker climbed the mid rail of the genie boom lift. The workers were not trained on how to use the boom lift prior to the release for them to use it. Thus, exposing the workers to a fall hazard.
