29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about January 29, 2020 and times prior thereto in the Machine Shop, Metal Fabrication Area, a Wilton vertical belt sander, where employees were exposed to amputation and flying metal chip and spark hazards from the belt sander. (b) On or about December 6, 2020 and times prior thereto in the Machine Shop, Metal Fabrication Area, a Jet Drill Press, where employees were exposed to amputation and flying metal chip hazards from the rotating drill. (c) On or about December 6, 2020 and times prior thereto in the Machine Shop, Metal Fabrication Area, Jet Drill Press, where employees were exposed to amputation and flying metal chip hazards from the rotating drill. Texas Medical Industries, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1383463, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on August 13, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1409 Industrial Park Royse City, TX 75189.
