29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. Location: 3rd story Roof On or about 2/4/2020, an employee was exposed to falls from heights of approximately 28 feet to the ground while walking around on a 3rd story roof and intermittently operating a manual hoist to lift Steel building components to the employees in the building where fall protection was not utilized GP East Steel Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number: 1415943, citation number: 1, item number: 1a, and was affirmed as a final order on (11/19/2019), with respect to a workplace located at 28 Clifford St. Taunton, MA 02780.
