Soldered splices shall first be spliced or joined to be mechanically and electrically secure without solder and then soldered. All splices and joints and the free ends of conductors were not covered with an insulation equivalent to that of the conductors or with an insulating device identified for the purpose: (a) On or about February 5, 2020, and at times prior, employees were exposed to fire and electrocution hazards from wire splicing to energize a vent fan in the compressor shed that was not enclosed and protected.
