29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, in a readily accessible way, subjecting the employees to injuries.    a. On or about February 7, 2020, at the administrative offices of Budget Super Service Center, LLC in Saint Thomas, VI, one 10-pounds, ABC dry chemical, portable fire extinguisher was not readily accessible. Physical access to the extinguisher was hampered by boxes and supplies stored in the floor below and in front of the extinguisher.    b. On or about February 7, 2020, at the auto body and mechanics shop of Budget Super Service Center, LLC in Saint Thomas, VI, at least five, 10-pounds, ABC dry chemical, portable fire extinguishers were not readily accessible. Physical access to the extinguishers was hampered by car parts, steel drums, trash cans, and shop supplies laying in the floor below and in front of the extinguishers.    NOTE:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance.

On or about February 7, 2020, at the administrative offices of Budget Super Service Center, LLC in Saint Thomas, VI, the electrical service panel in the area was not readily accessible.     NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
