29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. The training shall include the following: 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a. On or before February 11, 2020, the employer did not provide lockout/tagout training for authorized employees performing servicing and maintenance on machines and equipment throughout the facility.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets. a. On or before February 11, 2020, the employer did not provide hazard communication training for each new employee exposed to hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to, the following: Isopropyl Alcohol 70%; Camie 666 Heavy Duty Food Processors Silicone Grease Lubricant; Hitachi JP-K67 u Printing Ink; Hitachi JP-87 Printing Ink; and/or other lubricating oils/greases. Veepak Ohio, LLC, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1362209, citation number 1, item number 5 (4b), and was affirmed as a final order on April 10, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 9040 Smith's Mill Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054.
