29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Instance a. Manufacturing area - On or about November 18, 2019, an employee suffered a partial finger amputation while operating the (Intro Endcupper), where adequate means of machine guarding was not in place to prevent amputation hazards. Instance b. Clean area - On or about February 12, 2020, employees assigned to operate the bagging machine were exposed to amputation hazards, where the conveyor was not guarded to prevent employees' fingers or hands from coming in contact with the in running nip point.
