29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about February 14, 2020, at the above addressed jobsite, employees conducting drywall operations were exposed to falls from a height of eighteen (18) feet six (6) inches to the lower level due to the presence of an unprotected edge on the upper level. A & M Construction & Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1175352, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 29, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 7156 S. Dorchester in Chicago, IL.
