29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Machine Shop - East wall: On or about February 19, 2020, the employer did not ensure that a manual lathe, LAD2433, was equipped with a safety guard around the 20" chuck. b) Machine Shop - South wall: On or about February 19, 2020. the employer did not ensure that a manual lathe, serial #7-0220, was equipped with a safety guard around the 12" chuck.
