29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. 285 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Township, NJ The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls. Employees engaged in masonry activities were observed walking outside the guardrail system to retrieve materials from the Lull positioned at the edge of the building without any means of fall protection. Violation observed on or about February 21, 2020

29 CFR 1926.502(d)(23): Personal fall arrest systems shall not be attached to guardrail systems, nor shall they be attached to hoists except as specified in other subparts of this Part. a. 285 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Township, NJ The employer authorized the use of the guardrails as an anchor point for fall arrest. Employees engaged in masonry activities used the cable guardrail system as an anchorage point while setting reinforcing steel at the top of the wall. Violation observed on or about February 21, 2020
