The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.     The employer is failing to protect the employees with adequate and sufficient machine guarding.  This was most recently documented on 3/4/2020 at the facility located at 1801 E South St Hastings, NE 68901.  Six (6) fixed powered drill presses were without drill chuck guarding and allowing the hazards of flying debris and rotating drill material to spin off and put employees at risk.

The employer is not performing an annual verification of the lock out tagout procedures for the equipment that employees are operating in the facility.  This was most recently documented on 3/4/2020 at the facility located at 1801 E South Street Hastings, NE 68901.  Employees in the facility were exposed to the accidental start up, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic hazards of the machinery in the event lock out tagout procedures were needed.
