29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a- 502 Lakewood - New Egypt Road, Lakewood NJ: Workers, not using fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 9 feet to the floor surface below and in excess of 25 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof truss placement, installation and other related activities at the worksite. Condition observed on or about 03/11/20. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii) a- 502 Lakewood - New Egypt Road, Lakewood NJ: Workers, not using fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 9 feet to the floor surface below and in excess of 25 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof truss placement, installation and other related activities at the worksite. At the time of the worksite inspection these employees, along with the other company worksite employees, had not received fall protection training from the company. Condition noted on or about 03/11/20. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
