29 CFR 1926.501(c): When employees were exposed to falling objects the employer did not require employees to wear hard hats and did not implement measures to prevent objects from falling from higher levels as set forth in (c)(1)-(3) of this section: -1 Erect toeboards, screens, or guardrail systems to prevent objects from falling from higher levels; or, -2 Erect a canopy structure; or -3 Barricade the area to which objects could fall, prevent employees from entering the barricaded area, and keep objects away from the edge of the higher level: On or about 03/12/2020, the employer did not ensure employee had protective helmet on while working in areas, inside and outside of a coned marked barricade, where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact of falling or flying objects from commercial roof structure demolition and disposal operations at the Drury Inn, 1001 Vandalia Rd., Collinsville, IL, 62223.
