29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following: guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: A) Cooper Farms Processing, located at 1 Cooper Farm Drive, Saint Henry, OH 45883: On or about March 25, 2020, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fall hazards while working on the platform located in the Picker Room. The front of the platform (entry point) was not adequately protected by the guardrail/mid-rail system or other acceptable methods of fall protection. Employees were cleaning blood from the platform and were exposed to the fall hazards of approximately 7 feet from the platform to the ground below.

IMPIANTI Tail Remover (Model: MSC-1; Serial # 2011SB02), located at the platform in the Picker Room, was adequately guarded. Employees were exposed to caught-in-between hazards that could result in serious injuries while working in a close proximity to the Tail Remover while it was running.

IMPIANTI Tail Remover (Model: MSC-1; Serial # 2011SB02) located at the platform in the Picker Room. Employees were exposed to nip-point hazards that could result in serious injuries.
