29 CFR 1910.134(a)(2): A respirator was not provided by the employer to each employee when such equipment was necessary to protect the health of the employee: a) Virtua Memorial Hospital 4NW, Medical Surgical Unit: On or about 4/19/2020, nurses providing care to suspected COVID-19 patients were required to wear surgical masks instead of appropriate respiratory protection, such as a N95 filtering facepiece respirator or the equivalent thereof. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
