29 CFR 1926.651(a): All surface encumbrances that were located so as to create a hazard to employees were not removed or supported, as necessary, to safeguard employees: a) North side of 1150 Collings Rd, Camden, NJ; sidewalk between street and front door - Employees were shoveling soil from beneath the adjacent, approximate 3 foot by 6-8 foot long section of unsupported section of sidewalk, in the approximate 4 ½-5 foot deep trench by up to 5-6 feet wide by approximately 14 ½ foot long trench, on or about 04/29/2020. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: a) North Side of 1150 Collings Rd, Camden, NJ; sidewalk between street and front door: Employees were shoveling soil from beneath the adjacent sidewalk, in the approximate 4 ½-5 foot deep trench by up to 5-6 feet wide by approximately 14 ½ feet long trench with an approximate 2 1/2 foot to 3 foot high pile of soil right at the edge of the trench, on or about 04/29/2020. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
