OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: Location: 10 Park Place Butler, NJ 07405 a) Employer was responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of the building freight elevator which is used by primarily by the building tenants. The freight elevator Peele hatch door safety device was bypassed and it allowed the hatch door to be opened without the elevator cart being in the landing position. This condition created a fall hazard of approximately 14 feet. On 03/07/2020, an employee of another employer fell opened the hatch door and sustained a fall.
