29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  During excavation work on May 6, 2020, at Springdale and North Hanley Road, St. Louis, MO, an employee walking from one ladder to the next on the first row of horizontal members of the shoring system, that was approximately 10 ft. from the top (ground level) of the excavation, to approximately  26 ft. to the bottom of the 36 ft. deep excavation, were exposed to a fall.  There was no fall protection system in place at the time of the inspection.  Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
