29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system. At the jobsite located at 2200 Northwest South Outer Road, Blue Springs, Missouri, subcontractor employees were exposed to serious fall hazards. Employees of First Class General Contracting, LLC. were installing a gravel retention bar on the roof of the jobsite without the use of fall protection systems. General contractor CCR Roofing did not correct the observed fall hazards and allowed First Class General Contracting LLC. employees to continue to work at elevations without utilizing fall protection. First Class General Contracting LLC. employees were exposed to fall hazard distances of 9 feet 8 inches to the ground below.
