29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a): Facility -Fresh Nap Machine - Rotating parts including belts, bands and chains located on the Fresh Nap machine were not guarded to protect employees from contact. An employee cleaning the machine made contact with the rotating parts and suffered partial amputations of two fingers, on or about May 18, 2020. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
