Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as falls during job site operations, decreasing the probability of employee injury and/or illness.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) On or about May 20, 2020, at the address of 4148 Alexis Rd. in Toledo, OH: The employer did not ensure that employees had been trained in the appropriate use of fall protection such as, but not limited to, the use of personal fall arrest systems or alternative measures while performing various roofing operations from elevated surfaces. Employees were exposed to a 12 foot fall hazard to the ground below while performing roofing activities.

Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system. a) On or about May 20, 2020, at the address of 4148 Alexis Rd. in Toledo, OH: The employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls while performing roofing activities. During this activity, employees were exposed to falls up to 12 ft. to the ground below.
