29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Harco Fittings Shop: On or about May 21, 2020 and at times prior employees were exposed to struck by hazards while using the unguarded Unit # 30 Homemade Hydraulic Press to flare the ends of metal fittings from 4 1/2 inches to 4 3/4 inches. b) Harco Fittings Shop: On or about May 21, 2020 and at times prior employees were exposed to struck by hazards while turning high-density polyethylene shims on the Unit # 36, Nebel Lathe without a chuck guard in place.
