29 CFR 1910.334(a)(4): Portable electric equipment and flexible cords that were used in highly conductive work locations (such as those inundated with water or other conductive locations) or in job locations where employees were likely to contact water or conductive liquids were not approved for those locations: Waste Water Treatment Plant: On, or about, June 10, 2020, an employee suffered a serious electric shock while he attempted to make water flow through a submerged sump pump. Although the work environment was wet, a ground fault circuit interrupter was not used in the circuit that energized the sump pump in accordance with warnings and guidance provided in the user manual for the sum pump.
