Employees were using gas powered equipment to grind off the top layer of a concrete gym floor to prepare the floor for coating.  a. An employee engaged in hand grinding the floor on July 02, 2020 and was exposed to carbon monoxide as an 8 hour time weighted average of 126.8 ppm, approximately 2.54 times the permissible exposure limit of 50.0ppm; this limit was established to prevent  adverse health effects. The exposure level was derived from carboxyhemoglobin back calculation. Employee exposure time was estimated to be 105 minutes, the remaining 375 minutes was calculated as zero (0) exposure time.
