29 CFR 1915.73(d): When employees were exposed to unguarded edges of decks, platforms, flats, or similar flat surfaces, more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the edges were not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(j)(1) and (2).   (a)  M/V Bering Hope at Northlake Shipyard 1441 North Northlake Way Seattle, WA 98103;  On or about July 8, 2020, Employees were working on an unguarded upper deck on the stern section, starboard side,  lowering equipment/ shipbuilding materials to the lower deck and accessing staged equipment/ shipbuilding materials.  This exposed employees to a 9 foot 4 inch fall to the lower deck.   (b)  M/V Bering Hope at Northlake Shipyard 1441 North Northlake Way Seattle, WA 98103;  On or about July 8, 2020, Employees were walking on deck plates with holes approximately 6 feet 8 inches deep, 4 feet wide by 3 feet long while moving welding lines on the stern section of the vessel.   (c)  M/V Bering Hope at Northlake Shipyard 1441 North Northlake Way Seattle, WA 98103;  On or about July 8, 2020, Employees were walking past an area which had one yellow rope measuring 35.5 inches high as a guardrail on the starboard stern section of the vessel.  This exposed employees to an approximate 50 foot fall to the bottom of the floating dry dock floor.
