29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). Employee(s) engaged in installing piping inside a trench underneath 161st street located at 16131 Foster, Stilwell, Kansas were exposed to cave-in hazards. The west side of the trench was approximately 6 feet - 6 inches in height and was sloped back 6 feet - 3 inches, thus not the required 9 feet - 7 inches to prevent cave-in hazards to workers inside the trench.
