Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about 07/17/2020 employees were exposed to a 19.8 ft. fall hazard while performing roofing work on a commercial roof top and not using any conventional fall protection.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The following training provisions supplement and clarify the requirements of 1926.21 regarding the hazards addressed in Subpart M of this part. Training program. The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) On or about 07/17/2020, employees have not been trained on fall protection systems and on hazards of falls, while working on heights of 19.8 ft. from the ground.
