Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).      Dollar Tree was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.37(b)(5), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1278349, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 2/20/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 416 East Main Street, Middletown, CT. 29 CFR  1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries:    (a): Back Room - Entrance from Store - A portable fire extinguisher was obscured and not readily accessible.  Boxes of merchandise were stacked in an unstable manner directly in front of the fire extinguisher, obscuring its access, which could contribute to exacerbation of a fire.  Employees were exposed to burns and smoke inhalation, on or about July 20, 2020.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).     (b): Back Room - Door to Basement - A portable fire extinguisher was obscured and not readily accessible.  Boxes of merchandise were stacked in an unstable manner directly in front of the fire extinguisher, obscuring its access and location, which could contribute to exacerbation of a fire.  Employees were exposed to burns and smoke inhalation, on or about July 20, 2020.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
