29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system: Jobsite: The employer did not ensure that the employees who were required to work from the edge of the commercial building under construction were protected from fall hazards above 6 feet by the use of guardrails, safety nets, personal fall arrest systems or a monitoring system. Versatile Renovations, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1267040, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1a, issued on 01/19/2018 with respect to a workplace located at 687 State Street, New Haven, CT and became a final order on 03/20/2018. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all equipment to protect employees against falls from roofs is available at its worksite and that such equipment is used to protect all employees who work on roofs more than 6 feet above a lower level from falling to that lower level. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19(d), the employer must provide documentation that this violation has been abated within 10 calendar days it receives this violation.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: Jobsite: The employer did not ensure that the employees who were required to work from the roof of the building under construction at a height above 6 feet were trained in fall hazards and the procedures to be followed to minimize such hazards. Versatile Renovations, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1301897, Citation Number 1, Item Number 2, issued on 03/27/2018 with respect to a workplace located at 800 Chase River Road, Waterbury, CT and became a final order on 04/24/2018. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all training to protect employees against falls from roofs is provided and that such training is used and enforced to protect all employees who work on roofs more than 6 feet above a lower level from falling to that lower level. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19(d), the employer must provide documentation that this violation has been abated within 10 calendar days it receives this violation.
