29 CFR 1910.1053(f)(2)(i): The employer did not establish and implement a written exposure control plan that contains at least the following elements: (A) A description of the tasks in the workplace that involve exposure to respirable crystalline silica; (B) A description of the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection used to limit employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica for each task; and (C) A description of the housekeeping measures used to limit employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica. (a) Stone Fabrication Area: On or about 7/29/20 and 10/16/20 the employer did not implement a written respirable crystalline silica exposure control plan containing the elements outlined in 29 CFR 1910.1053(f)(2)(i) (A) through (C) for employees doing cutting, grinding and polishing activities on stone products containing crystalline quartz silica. ABATEMENT NOTE: In accordance with 1910.1053(f)(2)(i)(A) through 1910.1053(f)(2)(i)(C) a written exposure control plan shall consist of: a. 1910.1053(f)(2)(i)(A), A description of the tasks in the workplace that involve exposure to respirable crystalline silica; b. 1910.1053(f)(2)(i)(B), A description of the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection used to limit employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica for each task; c. 1910.1053(f)(2)(i)(C), A description of the housekeeping measures used to limit employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica; and Further assistance in developing a written respirable crystalline silica exposure is available in OSHA Small Entity Compliance Guide for the Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard for General Industry and Maritime.
