29 CFR 1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tankcars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks were not in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965, which is incorporated by reference as specified in CFR 1910.6:    (a) Florence Brewing Company, LLC, 200 Pike's Peak Ave, Florence, CO 81266: On or about August 7, 2020, and at times prior, cylinders were not stored in compliance with CGA Pamphlet P-1-1965, paragraph 3.3.8 which states "Do not store cylinders near elevators or gangways, or in locations where heavy moving objects may strike or fall on them."  Cylinders stored in the brew room were not protected from being struck by heavy objects such as full kegs or being kicked by employees walking through the area and striking other cylinders.  Cylinders stored in the cooler were not secured from falling if struck by a keg. Employees were exposed to electrical shock and burn hazards due to the Clean In Place control panel missing outer wire insulation. 29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:    (a) Florence Brewing Company, LLC, 200 Pike's Peak Ave, Florence, CO 81266: On or about August 7, 2020, and at times prior, the employer did not provide suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes.  Employees use diluted solutions of peracetic acid, a caustic agent, as a sanitizing agent in collection buckets for off-gassed carbon dioxide and in the Clean-In-Place process for brewing equipment. 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries:    (a) Florence Brewing Company, LLC, 200 Pike's Peak Ave, Florence, CO 81266: On or about August 7, 2020, and at times prior, the employer did not locate and mount a portable fire extinguisher in a manner to ensure it was readily accessible and to prevent subjecting employees to injuries.  The fire extinguisher in the brew room was mounted above the door, preventing shorter employees from reaching it.  The location also created a potential for injury if employees were to drop the extinguisher. 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:  (a) Florence Brewing Company, LLC, 200 Pike's Peak Ave, Florence, CO 81266: On or about August 7, 2020, and at times prior, the employer did not have a written hazard communication program which met the requirements set forth in 29 CFR 1910.1200, paragraphs (f)-(h).  Employees use peracetic acid to perform Clean-In-Place processes on brewing equipment.  Peracetic acid is corrosive and can cause chemical burns.
