29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Ramco Metal Cutting Band Saw, Model RS100P, did not have a guard while performing metal work. b. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Kasto-Racine Hack Saw did not have a guard while performing metal work. c. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Eugen Weisser lathe did not have a guard while performing metal work. d. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Hercules Ajax lathe did not have a guard while performing metal work. e. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that an American Turnmaster lathe, Model AT-21120G, did not have a guard while performing metal work. f. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Harrison Centre lathe, Model V460, did not have a guard while performing metal work. g. At the production area: On or about August 14, 2020 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that a Select Machine Tool Co. engine lathe, Model 1640G, did not have a guard while performing metal work.
