29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: On or about August 20, 2020, biodiesel operators and other qualified employees inside the Pretreat Building were required to handle corrosive chemicals such as, but not limited to, a dry caustic potash/potassium hydroxide (KOH). Employees were required to perform a tricanter caustic flush procedure that required manually adding dry KOH into water. The employer did not provide immediate access to an emergency eyewash and shower for quick drenching while working with corrosive chemicals and/or solutions. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
