29 CFR 1960.8(a): The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm: a) On or about September 4, 2020, employees cutting grass was exposed to crushing hazards of tip-over while operating a zero-turn radius riding lawn mower on a hill with a slope greater than 15 degrees. b) On or about September 4, 2020, at the workplace, the employer did not ensure that Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) were installed on multiple Hustler 60" zero turn lawnmower in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, to prevent injury and/or death in the event of a roll over.
