29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1):  The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):  The employer did not assess the workplace hazards to ensure that employees had the appropriate personal protective equipment to protect them from hazards.  a.  Paint building- Employees were painting metal containers without a hazard assessment to determine personal protective equipment required, exposing employees to chemical hazards.  b.  Wash bay area-  Employees cleaning the tires with corrosive cleaning products without a hazard assessment to determine the personal protective equipment needed to do the task safely, exposing employees to chemical burns.

29 CFR  1910.151(c):  Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  Employees were working with corrosive chemical products such as, but not limited to aluminum brightener  in the wash bay area and the employer did not provide an eyewash unit with shower for quick drenching or flushing.  This condition exposed employees to chemical burns in the event of contact with such products.

This condition exposed employees to hazardous chemicals that can cause eye, skin, and respiratory irritations and burns.
